Trails of Freedom appreciates your interest in the 2011 Summer Photo Contest.
We’ve put together a list of some frequently asked questions concerning the contest to clarify the basic guidelines. If your question isn’t answered here, please send us an e-mail. You may also find more specific information regarding certain questions in the 2011 Summer Photo Contest Official Rules.
Q: When can I begin entering photos?
A: We will be accepting entries via email from June 6 through August 1, 2011.
Q: How many photos can I enter?
A: Entrants are permitted to submit up to 3 photographs. Any entrants that submit more than 3 photographs will be disqualified.
Q: How do I enter?
A: Entries must be submitted via email to photo_contest@trailsoffreedom.com. Be sure to include your name, mailing address, e-mail address and telephone number.
Q: What are the criteria for entries?
A: Photographs should generally portray nature, outdoor recreation, landscapes, travel, and related subjects. Image files should not exceed 4 megabytes in file size and must be in .JPG or .GIF format. Any submissions determined not to meet these criteria will be disqualified.
Q: Why aren’t all of my entries posted in the contest gallery?
A: Each entrant’s photographs are subject to approval by Trails of Freedom LLC. After you’ve submitted your photographs, one of our staff approves or disapproves each photo for placement in the gallery.
Q: When will the winners be notified?
A: Sometime in August 2011.
Q: When will the winners be announced?
A: The Grand Prize winner’s photo will be published on the Trails of Freedom website on August 10, 2011.
Q: What are the prizes?
A: Grand Prize (1): $50 REI gift card.
Second Prize (1): $25 Cabela’s gift card.
Third Prize (1): Trails of Freedom T-Shirt
Finalists (6): Online publication of in the Finalists Gallery.
All winning entries and finalist entries will be published in dedicated pages on the Trails of Freedom website. Every entry will published in the Contest Gallery on the Trails of Freedom website (subject to prior approval by Trails of Freedom staff).
Q: Must I only enter photos taken in Summer 2011?
A: No. You can enter photographs taken during any season in any year, so long as you took them yourself.
