Born and raised in Connecticut, Jordan has always had a lifelong passion for traveling and scientific investigation. Starting at an early age, Jordan was involved in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. Having a penchant for the outdoors, he spent all of his summers in the swamps, woods and along the coast of Connecticut, furthering his love for science. After graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Earth Science, Jordan began working as an environmental consultant for a company based in Connecticut.
Traveling is Jordan’s other passion and in 2008, he took a break from the environmental field and went to Iraq to support the US Military as a private contractor providing logistics coordination. After 15 months overseas, Jordan returned home and decided to “hit the trails” of the United States and began traveling to various state and national parks on the East Coast. During his travels from the mainland, Jordan made his way across the continent to the Hawaiian Islands to visit his friend Leigh Anne who attended the University of Hawaii. While in Hawaii, Jordan became aware of the hiking group that Leigh Anne and her friends’ had created, called Trails of Freedom. He was inspired by their dreams and goals, and the rest, as they say, is history.
