I thought I’d already laid eyes on the full-range of impressive waterfalls in the state, but this this 2,000-acre parcel of forest in Granby, Connecticut taught me that I shouldn’t be so quick to think I’ve seen it all!

Big Falls State Park, which lies about two miles south of the Canadian border, is an aptly-named park where the Missisquoi River cascades through a deep, narrow, cliff-lined gorge in Troy, Vermont.

The 2011 Tough Mudder: New England, held at Vermont’s Mount Snow, may not have been a “hike” in the strictest sense of the word… but this back-breaking, 10-mile obstacle course could prepare you for some of meanest trails on the planet!

Trails of Freedom Vice President, Jordan Coleman, endured mud, snow, electricity, steep uphill sprints, fire, and swims through 36-degree water to complete the famous Tough Mudder obstacle course at Vermont’s Mount Snow. The grueling 10-mile course pits participants against 28 brutal obstacles for a 4-hour excursion like none other!
